Ten steps to close your pool independently
Closing your pool during the winter is an important step to take carefully each year, in order to keep the water clean and avoid surprises when reopening.
How to close your pool correctly and independently?
Danny, your pool expert, answers.

The 10-point guide to closing your pool
To close your pool independently and professionally, you need to follow these steps:
1. Clean the bottom of the pool with a robot or a vacuum cleaner.
A robot is essential for a good pool cleaning, so let it run a couple of cycles and then clean it thoroughly, so it will be ready and perfect for next year!
Also, if you think your robot needs a check-up, write to me right away. This is the best time to check it!
2. Backwash the sand filter and check that the pump's pre-filter (the transparent one) is clean; otherwise, clean it.
These two operations are fundamental for the system to be 100% operational!
3. Check the pH levels.
The pH should be between 7.2 and 7.6. If the values are wrong, correct them with my pH Minus or my pH Plus; if you don't remember how, write to me at 334 149 1755.
Also, if you use pH Plus, I recommend setting the selector valve to number 5 (circulation) for at least 2 hours.
This product, in fact, can dissolve any iron or limescale agglomerated in the sand. With this trick, you will avoid unpleasant surprises!

4. Perform a super chlorination with my Diklor Shock Super, considering approximately 2kg per 100 cubic meters of water.
Alternatively, you can use 4lt of Liquid Klor per 100 cubic meters of water if you have a cartridge system or use liquid chemical products.
The chlorine should be dissolved and poured into the skimmers or, in the case of overflow pools, into the overflow channel.
5. Add WINTER ALGASTOP winterizer to prevent algae formation during the winter months (dosage: 1L per 10 cubic meters of water).
Winter Algastop is my special winter anti-fouling agent that releases its properties during the months when the pool is covered.
6. Leave the system running for at least 24 consecutive hours to ensure the products added to the pool are properly mixed.
7. Cover the pool with the EASYCOVER winter cover with anti-roll tubes.
Easycover is a product entirely made in Italy and is my exclusive! The 5-year WARRANTY is just one of the advantages of this super durable cover.
Easy and quick to install, it does not require intervention by qualified personnel, saving you time and money.

8. Use the CLEANCOVER cover drain pump to keep the cover dry and clean during the winter.
Winter rains can cause a lot of water to accumulate on the cover and create a sag; this, due to the communicating vessels effect, can cause the pool water to drain.

9. If you close the pool with high temperatures, keep it running for a couple of hours a day (perhaps the warmest ones between 12:00 and 14:00).
Closing and covering the pool is recommended only when maximum temperatures are below 24 degrees Celsius.
10. Leave the system valves open as when you use the pool and DO NOT LOWER THE WATER LEVEL.
Lowering the water level would be an unnecessary waste.
Furthermore, I advise against placing anything rigid or inflatable under the cover, as it would create a greenhouse effect, the water would be poorly oxygenated, and consequently, molds or bacteria would proliferate.
N.B. The tubes should only be filled up to 50% to ensure a longer lifespan!
