Open the pool or just start it up?
When the warm season arrives, temperatures get milder, and days start to get longer, one begins to think that it's time, weather permitting, to uncover their pool. Ready, then, to put the winter cover back in the garage? But what if, once uncovered, the pool is full of lint or leaves from spring pollination?
So what to do? Open the pool or just start it up?
Danny, your pool expert, answers.
To prevent finding your water surface in the condition just mentioned, or if you don't have the patience to wait and want to uncover it, my advice is to check it weekly and leave it filtering for at least 6 hours a day.
The condition of your pool's water surface may also be affected by its proximity to areas particularly exposed to pollen.
In this regard, it would be advisable to periodically check skimmers/overflow channels and pump baskets, as well as perform weekly backwashes.
Furthermore, my warning is also to avoid blockages or clogging effects in the filtration system caused by lint.
If, on the other hand, you keep your pool closed and covered until summer arrives, I only recommend turning it on for at least 4 hours a day, during the warmest hours of the day, from 11 am to 3 pm.
This will keep the water mixed, preventing bacterial proliferation. In any case, the best way to take care of it, especially when maximum temperatures exceed 26 degrees, is to remove the winter cover immediately.

What do you need if you open the pool?
If you decide to open the pool, you will need the essential chemical products to get it running. Our products are all high quality and certified by the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS).
To ensure correct use and the right quantity, avoiding waste, you can rely on Blue Connect Plus, the smart analyzer that monitors your pool 24/7, significantly simplifying its management. It keeps you constantly updated on your pool's water status, avoiding the use of inconvenient and sometimes approximate manual measuring tools like test kits or reactive strips, thus allowing you to act systematically and precisely in maintaining water balance.
During the pool opening phase, the robotic cleaner is essential for pool cleaning. The robot not only simplifies your cleaning work but also keeps the water oxygenated and will save you on chemical product usage.
