Tips and solutions for troubleshooting your Dolphin Maytronics pool robot
Hi, I'm Danny,
The stars of this feature are our beloved and trusted pool robots. Inseparable companions for cleaning and maintaining our pool, but which, of course, also require care and attention.
For this reason, if you need assistance, I recommend our official Maytronics support service.
Alternatively, if you have problems with your Dolphin pool robot that can be solved independently.
For example, we can analyze them together, drawing inspiration from the most common ones found in the various questions and requests I receive via email and chat every day.
On our website, you can find all spare parts always available for immediate delivery, divided by compatibility with the different Dolphin robot models.
When the cleaner doesn't move
Let's start with what I consider the most classic issue:
- the first thing to do is ensure that the transformer is plugged in and turned on and that the cable is properly inserted into the appropriate slot on the side of the transformer;
- then, check that the electrical outlet is working correctly and that there are no power fluctuations;
- turn off the transformer, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on;
- unplug the transformer and make sure there are no problems with either the cable or other parts of the robot.
When the cleaner moves but doesn't clean
What to do?
- in this case, the filter (or filter cartridges) needs to be cleaned;
- if, however, the cleaner starts moving and stops after a few minutes, check the impeller and drive system to see if there is any debris stuck.

Having problems with your Dolphin pool robot should not cause concern or be a source of stress.
My staff at ZavattiShop.com and the specialized technicians at the official Maytronics service center are at your complete disposal, whenever you need us: you can reach me either by email at info@zavattishop.com or by calling 334.1491755, also via WhatsApp.
When the robot cleans only part of the pool
Now, let's see what to do in these situations:
- firstly, you need to ensure that the cable length is suitable for the operations and able to cover the entire pool, so that our cleaner can work without problems along the entire perimeter of the pool;
- thoroughly clean the filter or filter cartridges;
- check that the cleaner's brushes are suitable for the type of bottom to be cleaned and that they are not damaged or worn;
- make sure that the water values are correct, without alterations, and that there are no algae that could compromise the work cycle of our cleaner;
- also pay attention to the handle, ensuring it is in a diagonal position so that the robot can unbalance and turn;
- then, securely close the bottom drains of the pool to prevent a suction effect that would block the cleaner;
- if the pool robot does not turn 90° or turns beyond 90°, try moving the floats on the handle (or removing one or both).
When the cleaner spins on itself
However, if this happens:
- it is advisable to remove excess cable from the pool, trying to arrange it, in the most appropriate way, at the poolside. In fact, too much cable would make the cleaner's movements in the water difficult;
- always clean the filter, thus preventing debris from accumulating;
- remove leaves, stones, or any other foreign objects from the cleaner's parts;
- replace, if necessary, the tracks of our Dolphin Maytronics pool robot.
When the cleaner floats instead of staying at the bottom of the pool
Another common problem with Dolphin pool robots, how to deal with it?
- in this case, try to remove air from the cleaner;
- immerse the cleaner in water and squeeze the combined brush to ensure it is fully saturated.
When the cleaner doesn't climb walls
This can also be one of the problems with Dolphin pool robots:
- to try to solve it, you need to clean the filter (or filter cartridges);
- check the water values, perhaps also using our certified chemical products;
- make sure that the brushes are suitable for the type of pool lining and that they are not worn;
- always check the water temperature, also with the help of our Blue Connect digital analyzer.
The cable is tangled
To solve this problem you need to:
- straighten the cable and leave it in the sun for at least a day, so that it can "soften" for better handling;
- then, avoid introducing excess cable into the pool;
- verify that the robot's brushes and wheels are suitable for the type of pool lining;
- if the robot has two motors, make sure both are working correctly.
I hope I've been helpful with all these tips to solve your problems with Dolphin pool robots.
Obviously, these precautions apply to most cleaner models. For other questions, I renew the invitation to contact our official Maytronics support service.
