Pool walls have become rough

Why have the pool walls become rough? What causes this problem?
How can we solve it?
Danny, your pool expert, answers.

Usually, if pool walls become rough, it is because a layer of limescale residue has formed on them.
This is very likely because particularly hard water, such as well water, is used to fill the pool.

To remove this "limescale crust" that has formed, we can adopt two solutions:

  • Sequat sequestering agent - for a full pool;
  • Nokrust descaling agent - for an empty pool.

Sequat sequestering agent - for a full pool
The Sequat product is poured directly into the pool, following the dosages indicated on the package, with the filtration system running. By allowing the product to act for several hours, it will dissolve the incrustations on the walls, allowing the robotic pool cleaner to easily vacuum them up.
To prevent the problem from recurring, it is advisable to use soft tap water for subsequent top-ups or refills of the pool. If it is not possible to use soft water, always keep the Sequat product available.

Nokrust descaling agent - for an empty pool
The descaling agent is used directly on the surfaces to be treated. It must be used when the pool is empty. It is advisable to pour the product into a container with a spray nozzle and spray it directly onto the walls, letting it act for a few seconds. After that, it will be sufficient to remove it using a cloth.
This work is time-consuming and also leads to significant water waste, as the pool will have to be emptied and then refilled. To prevent the problem from recurring, it is advisable to use soft tap water for the next refill.
