Why aren't the skimmers sucking in water anymore?
Pool skimmers are used to draw in surface water from the pool, collecting a large amount of dirt; they are the first filter to collect dirt in the pool.
It can happen that skimmers no longer draw in pool water properly.
Why? What could be the causes?

Usually, the primary reason skimmers don't draw in water well is a blockage within them. Skimmers have a basket inside that collects impurities such as leaves, hair, insects, etc., which needs to be emptied and cleaned frequently. Therefore, it is highly advisable to clean skimmer baskets regularly and often.
If the skimmer baskets are clean, then it's good to check that all valves are properly open. If the valves are fine, the next step is to check the pump's pre-filter, which also needs frequent cleaning, and then proceed with a backwash of the filter.
If problems still persist, it's best to contact a technician who can check for any other issues on-site.
