What are swimming pool chemicals for?
What are chemicals for? Which ones are the most important? How do you use them?
Danny, your pool expert, answers.
If you own a swimming pool, it's important to take care of the water inside it.
To always have clean and, above all, healthy water, the filtration system, the robotic cleaner, and especially the chemical treatment are essential. The latter must be carried out constantly and correctly to prevent the formation of algae, fungi, and bacteria.
Certainly, anyone who owns a swimming pool should always have available:
- granular chlorine DIKLOR SHOCK SUPER
- pH regulators (PH PLUS and PH MINUS)
- algaecide ALGASTOP
- multifunction tablets TABLOK SUPER

Some fundamental tips:
- The pH value of the pool water must always be between 7.2 and 7.4, to allow chlorine and other chemical products to react correctly.
- The pool must be filled with fresh water; tap water is usually a good solution, while well water is advisable to avoid, as it is often rich in iron and other minerals that could cause undesirable reactions in contact with chlorine.
- Upon first filling, the pool should be treated with granular chlorine DIKLOR SHOCK SUPER, while for maintenance, it is advisable to use TABLOK SUPER tablets, which slowly release chemicals into the water, also helping the pH to remain stable.
- Algaecide does not remove algae but only prevents their formation; it is strongly recommended to use it in larger doses during the warmer periods of the year.
