Winter cover produced at our factory in Poggio Rusco (Mn) by specialized technicians, masters in the use of the most modern heat-sealing technologies, adapting the process to the external temperature to avoid imperfections. The tarpaulin is created directly from the reinforced polyethylene roll, hand-finishing any imperfections.

Advantages of the basic cover for in-ground pools

  • protects the water from debris and dirt, prevents leaves and organisms from altering the pH conditions of the pool.

  • shields the water from solar rays, which are the main cause of chlorine evaporation and the consequent proliferation of microorganisms like algae. Can be used as a summer isothermal cover.

  • eliminates the use of chemicals thanks to protection from UV rays and organic substances. Only a shock treatment combined with winterizer is needed to face the cold season.

  • allows significant savings, by ceasing to use the system, reducing electricity, and stopping the purchase of chemicals.

Technical characteristics of the basic winter pool cover

  • fine mesh carbon reinforcement, essential for resistance to tearing and wear over time

  • 220gr/m2 PVC coated polyethylene, best weight/strength ratio to increase mobility without sacrificing strength

  • self-stabilizing, great resistance to degradation from temperature fluctuations due to thermal excursions

  • very high capacity to maintain stable temperature to block the proliferation of bacteria

  • waterproofing necessary for protection from rainwater that changes the pH value

  • no seams for excellent tensile strength, a necessary feature to withstand bad weather

Useful tips for installing the winter pool cover

  1. To ensure optimal stability of the cover, the ideal water level should not exceed -10cm from the ground level.

  2. Use the Clean Cover pump for draining tarpaulins with a water drainage kit (available in related products) to limit accumulation on the cover during persistent rain and keep the cover dry.

  3. For optimal installation, place the cover near the edge of the pool, lift the two corners and proceed towards the opposite edge. Our covers are folded accordion-style to ensure a quick closing of the pool.

  4. Perform correct winterization with granular chlorine Diklor Super (30gr/m3) and winterizer Winter Algastop (1L per 10m3) to be applied one after the other.

 
 
Instructions for professional installation of the winter cover:
  • Around the pool, a space of at least 50 cm is required for supporting the tubes and ensuring stability for the cover.
  • If the pool has skimmers, it is important to consider that 20 cm of the cover is lost on each side to compensate for the difference in level between the edge and the water.
  • To ensure optimal stability of the cover, the ideal water level should not exceed -10cm from the ground level.
  • Use the Clean Cover pump for draining tarpaulins with a water drainage kit (available in related products) to limit accumulation on the cover during persistent rain and keep the cover dry. This is also very important to prevent water from leaking from under the cover due to the principle of communicating vessels.
  • THE TUBES SHOULD BE FILLED TO 50%

N.B. If you have a saltwater pool, please remember that electrolysis significantly reduces the durability and resistance of the cover.

How to close the pool?

  1. Clean the bottom of the pool with a robot
  2. Perform backwash and check that the pump pre-filter is clean
  3. Check pH levels (7.2 / 7.6)
  4. Perform a super chlorination with Diklor Super
  5. Add Winter Algastop to prevent algae formation
  6. Leave the system on for at least 24 hours
  7. Cover the pool with the winter cover
  8. Use the empty tarpaulin pump to keep the cover dry and clean
  9. If temperatures are high, leave the system on during the hottest hours
  10. Leave the valves open and DO NOT lower the water level
