Rectangular tarpaulin measuring 7 x 18 m, suitable for covering in-ground pools.

Winter cover produced at our factory in Poggio Rusco (Mn) by specialized technicians, masters in the use of the most modern heat-sealing technologies, adapting the process to the external temperature to avoid imperfections. The tarpaulin is created directly from the reinforced polyethylene roll, hand-finishing any imperfections.

Advantages of the basic cover tarp for in-ground pools

  • protects the water from debris and dirt, prevents leaves and organisms from altering the pool's pH conditions.

  • screens the water from solar rays, which are the main cause of chlorine evaporation and the consequent proliferation of microorganisms like algae. Can be used as an isothermal summer cover.

  • eliminates the need for chemicals thanks to protection from UV rays and organic substances. A shock treatment combined with winterizing agent is enough to face the cold.

  • allows for significant savings, as the system is no longer used, reducing electricity consumption and eliminating chemical purchases.

Technical characteristics of the basic winter cover tarp

  • fine-mesh carbon reinforcement, essential for tear resistance and wear over time

  • 220gr/m2 PVC coated polyethylene, best weight/strength ratio to increase mobility without sacrificing strength

  • self-stabilizing, high resistance to degradation from temperature fluctuations due to thermal excursion

  • very high capacity to maintain stable temperature to block bacterial proliferation

  • waterproofing necessary for protection from rainwater that alters the pH value

  • no seams for excellent tensile strength, a necessary feature to withstand bad weather

Useful tips for installing the winter pool cover

  1. To ensure optimal stability of the tarp, the ideal water level should not exceed -10cm from ground level.

  2. Use the Clean Cover tarp pump with a water drainage kit (available in related products) to limit water accumulation on the tarp during heavy rains and keep the cover dry.

  3. For optimal installation, place the tarp near the edge of the pool, lift the two corners, and proceed towards the opposite edge. Our tarps are folded accordion-style to ensure quick pool closing.

  4. Perform correct winterization with granular chlorine Diklor Super (30gr/m3) and winterizing agent Winter Algastop (1L per 10m3), to be added one after the other.

 
 
Instructions for professional installation of the winter tarp:
  • A space of at least 50 cm around the pool is necessary for the tubulars to rest and to ensure stability of the tarp.
  • If the pool has a skimmer, it is important to note that 20 cm of tarp are lost on each side to compensate for the difference in level between the edge and the water.
  • To ensure optimal stability of the tarp, the ideal water level should not exceed -10cm from ground level.
  • Use the Clean Cover tarp pump with a water drainage kit (available in related products) to limit water accumulation on the tarp during heavy rains and keep the cover dry. It is also very important to prevent water from escaping from under the tarp due to the principle of communicating vessels.
  • THE TUBULARS SHOULD BE FILLED TO 50%

N.B. If you have a salt-treated pool, please remember that electrolysis significantly reduces the lifespan and resistance of the cover.

How to close the pool?

  1. Clean the pool bottom with a robot
  2. Perform backwash and check that the pump pre-filter is clean
  3. Check pH levels (7.2 / 7.6)
  4. Perform super chlorination with Diklor Super
  5. Add Winter Algastop to prevent algae formation
  6. Leave the system on for at least 24 hours
  7. Cover the pool with the winter cover
  8. Use the tarp empty pump to keep the tarp dry and clean
  9. If temperatures are high, leave the system on during the hottest hours
  10. Leave the valves open and DO NOT lower the water level
